After I write about Cheap Cell Phones Competition Part one, now i want write part two about cheap cell phone.

The economic law said, people always trying to get profit as much as possible with budget as low as possible. This is work for all things including cell phone choices. Most customers wish that they’ll get a complete cell phone features with low budget. Honestly, it’s impossible. Sometimes many vendors offering complete facilities for us but unfortunately, a lot of them just become cell phone ornaments.
Next, we will compare some cheap cell phones, they’re IMO i188, Nokia 1650, Sony Ericsson J123, Samsung C450 and i-mobile 200. The price are about 400 until 500 thousands rupiah.

Desaign Comparation
From the desaign, there are no special character from them, they look usual low end phone with candybar model. Only IMO i188 looks cute with flat model.
Looking at the keypads, almost of them using rubber as material, except Samsung C450 using kind of hard plastic, whereas IMO i188 using combination plastic and rubber. From the material keypads, of course we can find that Samsung C450 and IMO i188 are more comfort than the others.
To reach favourite menu, these phones provide navigation system called D-pad with different models, square or circle. Unfortunately, not all them could be personalized.

User Interface and Screen
Once again, simplicity try to be showed by these cell phones. Nokia, Samsung and i-mobile show grid model. The plus poin, Nokia also use list model same with Sony Ericsson and IMO i188. One menu icon for one function with fullscreen appearances.
Next about the LCD, most cheap cell phone are using CSTN technology for the screen, but their colour range could reach 65.365 colours. Clear and bright enough for showing menu icons. More over, each phone has contrass and brightness setting to improve screen perform.

Messaging
Complete messaging service in a low end cell phone is plus value. J132 and i-mobile 200 only have short message service (SMS), whereas IMO i188 and Samsung C450 have add MMS format. IMO i188 provide chat SMS same with N1650. and Samsung C450 provide SOS message feature for emergency.

Camera
Samsung C450 and i-mobile 200 with higher price are completed with VGA camera. In i-mobile 200, there are two types camera resolutions. First, if you save your pictures in cell phone memory, the resolution is just 128 x 128 pixel. But if you save them in external memory, the resolution would be 640 x 480 pixel. About the picture quality, I guess you’ve know it. And I remaind you that the camera can’t be used to record videos.

Entertainment
Customers wish that they’ll get entertaint features from their phones. With cheap price, IMO i188 and i-mobile 200 could provide music player and video. Music file format could be played is MP3, and for video, both of them have special player to play 3gp file. The cool side is, both cell phones provide other memory card with microSD type. They also have good audio quality, but IMO i188 have better perform because it’s speaker separate with the earpiece. The fifth cell phones are also completed with FM radio with almost equal quality for catching frequency and handsfree output.

Connectivity and internet
Maybe you will be a little bit disappoint with connection facility, because from the fifth phones, only IMO i188 and i-mobile 200 that have USB cable for files transfer. And only IMO i188 and Samsung C450 give you internet access with low speed and perform. Because of the browser version that use WAP 1.2.1 with GPRS data canal.

Other Features
N 1650 and IMO i188 give more features for customers. Both are completed with flashlight in the top corner of the body. In N 1650, you could use call tracker for monitor phone activities. In i188 you could use E-book reader, such a small notes with text format (.txt). In Samsung C450 you could find cell phone security system. There’s privacy feature that is used to protect phonebook, call log, message, photos and sound. Just like B200, C450 is also completed with mobile tracker.

Battery
All these types use ion lithium battery with different capacities. IMO i188 65 mAh, i-mobile 200 750 mAh, Samsung 800 mAh, J123 930mAh and N 1650 1020 mAh. As phones with minimal features, they have longer battery power. They could standby for 2-3 days

The conclusion
From the comparations, with lower price IMO i188 have better perform than the others. Unfortunately, IMO i188 isn’t completed with VGA camera. In second position there’s i-mobile which has complete features. But if you need more protection for your data, the security data system technology in Samsung C450 is the right choice.

Nokia and Sony Ericsson actually just winning popular brand competition, because with higher price they’re just have standart features.
